The Montie Gear knife is easily removed from the aluminum holster by pushing on the stainless steel release with your thumb. The knife can easily be removed from the sheath, even with gloves on. This makes for a versatile knife that is at home anywhere from the shoulder strap of your backpack to your purse (for the ladies). The aluminum sheath is very distinctive with a one handed release of the locking mechanism allowing for very quick access using only one hand.
The blade is designed to be easy-to-sharpen and replaceable. If you break a blade, we have paid service where you ship the knife back to Montie Design and we can replace the broken blade and ship it back to you. This level of serviceability is critical in an ultralightweight blade.
Each blade is hand sharpened and ready for use. The design of the blade and the steel we chose makes it very easy to sharpen the blade. We also offer a sharpening service.
The knife is also available with a paracord wrap on the handle. Choose between 550 pararcord wraps in the following colors: digital desert camo, ACU woodland camo, black, or pink.

We wanted a light enough knife that you could just leave it attached to the strap on your pack, so its ready when you need it. This product is made in North Carolina, Troublesome Gap Tough and Heirloom Quality.
Rapid Deployment
The Montie Gear knife is easily removed from the aluminum holster by pushing on the stainless steel release with your thumb. The knife can quickly be removed from the sheath, even with gloves on. This makes for a versatile knife that is at home anywhere from the shoulder strap of your backpack to your purse (for the ladies). The aluminum sheath is very distinctive with a one handed release of the locking mechanism allowing for very quick access using only one hand.
The belt clip is adjustable to allow the knife to rotate on the belt clip in 45 degree increments for enhanced flexibility.
Blade Philosophy
The blade is designed to be easy-to-sharpen and replaceable. We put a lot of engineering and finite element analysis into designing a blade that flexible uniformly along its length rather than breaking. We also chose a steel and created a blade configuration that is very easy to sharpen with only basic tools. We felt like this was critical for a blade that might be used in a survival situation.
