Description

Never again wonder where an RFID portal can, or can't, read tags. The Montie Gear RFID Range Detector allows the user to quickly determine the location of the extents of an RFID field just by pushing a button watching as the signal strength changes with the location of the user. This simple tool (smaller and thinner than most smart phones) detects the presence of the 900MHz signal emitted by your RFID portal with the push of a button.

Montie Gear RFID Troubleshooting Tools are used worldwide as simple tools to test whether or not RFID portals are emitting a signal. These inexpensive tools help technicians troubleshoot RFID systems since 2009. The RFID Field Detector is our next generation unit, providing the ability to inexpensively find the extent of the usable RFID field.

How It Works: Find out where your portal is actually casting a useable RFID field by looking at the card as walk through your RFID field and determine the relative strength anywhere in the field. Seven LEDs light up in order to a relative indication of the signal strength. This gives a never before seen (at least with a low cost device) ability to understand the size and strength of the field for the portal you are setting up. Because the card looks for a strong 900mHz signal instead of an RFID header, there is no setup. Just pull out the card press the button and know where the RFID field is strong and where it is weak.

Sustainable Design: This device is very simple, uses minimal materials and uses 3 AAA batteries. Using commonly available batteries allows you to easily replace the batteries in the field at just about any convenience store or gas station.
